Twitter Reflection...

I have really enjoyed using Twitter!  I feel much more comfortable with it after using it so much in this class.  I can't believe all the resources, new ideas, and knowledge I have gained from Twitter.  I learned the most from following my Peru classmates and Ann!  They have provided me with great websites, applications, and realistic ideas that I could really use with my students in my classroom.  It also helped knowing that these are teachers who have actually tried these ideas and/or used these websites.  Stacey shared that she had a few students create an animoto.  This automatically gets me thinking of how I can implement this in my classroom.  Twitter was great for answering my tech questions.  Cory shared how to load free music to Imovie.  This information saved me lots of time.  Following my classmates gave me the confidence to step out of the box and try new things.  I will continue to use Twitter professionally and personally.  It doesn't scare me anymore! : )  Twitter keeps you up to date and I like knowing all the new technology and resources that are out there.  Twitter will help keep my teaching fresh and new!

Free Tech 4 Teachers by Richard Byrne-A Must See Blog!

I spent some time exploring Richard Byrne's amazing blog!  I found an abundance of free resources that teachers could utilize easily in their classroom.  The blog included quick links to keep you in the loop of current tech tools and websites.  It also brought awareness of upcoming technology conferences and tech opportunities available for teachers.  I plan to add MeeGenius, ebooks for kids and the website, Literacy Zone, to my Listening to Reading station and language arts links of my classroom website.  I also liked that the blog provided a way of finding keynote speakers and workshops.  I also ran across an Albert Einstein library of information that was also very cool!  This will be an awesome resource for my students when we study inventions.  After taking these technology courses through Peru, I feel much more comfortable building a blog of resources for my students and parents to utilize.  I definitely have a long ways to go, but my file of resources continues to grow.  I will definitely revisit Richard Byrne's blog on a regular basis.  I have only scratched the surface and there is so much great information!

My Animoto Video

My Animoto Video

I created an Animoto video highlighting Daily 5 in my classroom.  I think Animoto would be great for book reviews and highlighting field trips.  It would also be great to showcase student projects and to present staff development.
